Dr. Sterringer has been serving as a Roman Catholic minister in the community of Fairport Harbor for almost two decades. Following 9 years of seminary studies and the completion of multiple degrees and certifications, Shanon met and fell in love with the medieval German saint and doctor, Hildegard of Bingen. In 2015 Shanon traveled to Germany to spend some time immersed in the world of this extraordinary woman. Shortly following her return she and her family were able to purchase the former St. Michael Byzantine Church property. They did so with the vision of creating a center focused on helping women and men grow in wholeness. With the love and support of family and friends, the vision of The HILDEGARDEN is coming to fruition. Shanon, her husband Rick, and two of her three daughters, now live in the former rectory of St. Michael’s in beautiful Fairport Harbor.
